EMERGE!!

Well, I would say this post is kinda overdue, but not too late though. I don't have time to write at the beginning of the event, but I determine to write a summary of it.

What is Emerge? EMERGE KL is an annual youth conference brought to you by my beloved church, City Harvest Church KL. It consists of exciting talent and sports competitions, with the purpose to unlock the talents and abilities hidden inside the youth and participants within two months period. This then builds up to 3 energy-pumped night sessions by the very end of the conference, with explosive music, competition finals and celebrity guest appearances. As for this year, the free-of-charge conference days will be @31st August, 1st & 2nd September 2012!

This year, our competition within the 4 cluster (Local U, SMU, MINT & VU) are very strong, each and every of the cluster have very strong, committed and united member that fight for the victorious of their respective cluster. By the way, all our cluster leaders this year are GIRLS.

The GIRL Power!!

And, among one of the interesting highlight will be, the competition between the sisters. The real siblings!

Introduce to you, the Tan sisters. Sry to say that, they are both taken.

In the past, Local U cluster had been deemed as underdog, people don't expect us to really emerge and win the competitions. But, this year, our LU have make a difference. We have EMERGE, we really shine and level up. We have a good start in the beginning by winning the mascot competition. And we have fight through the whole two months in different competition. Although in the end we didn't manage to bring home the trophy, we play fair and we win the 3rd place with dignity.

The highlight still is our Parade of School competition and I am part of the team. I have to say that I am very proud of my team. I still can remember all the response from the crowd and Ps Kong for our performance, the cheers, wow's, even standing ovation. It's indeed my privilege to be part of it even my performance is not really good. The credits are all to our awesome and dedicated choreographers Mark Poh, Pooi Yan, Kevin Khoo and EnAi. All the amazing, surprising and crazy elements in our POS have really blown the crowds away. We even brought the fever of Gangnam Style to Emerge. Although we didn't manage to emerge as the champion, but we have the recognition of the crowd. The response and feedback is indeed overwhelming.

I were indeed down with fever few days before the conference itself. When I managed to get well before it, I were caught with a cold again. I lost my voice due to sorethroat. When I were feeling lucky my performance no need my voice, I were just reminded my serving and my job need it. So.. Haha..

I am thankful for my boyfriend always being there for me, constantly encourage me, support me and comfort me.

I will share more about POS in upcoming post. :)

Move move move

Gonna move house again, initially it's something very happy coz can move out from the house where the owner is very bad-manner.

But it seems turned out to be not-a-wise decision to move out at this time round when our financial is very tight. Seems like more communication is needed.. #Emo-ing :(

Poco Homemade

This is indeed a lovely place to chill and relax if you are looking for one.

I accidentadly pumped to know this place when I browsed around reading other people's blog post. Then, I were kind of immediately sent a message to Richard asking him if he's interested to go since the shop is only nearby in Bangsar. He agreed and we planned to go on 21st Aug when we were back from hometown.

Thus, as usual, during this Emerge peak season, every holiday was a training day. After training of the day, we made a call and did a reservation. Coz according to the blog, since it's exposure is higher and the place is not big, better reserve than regret. Haha..

We reached just ngam ngam before 6pm. It's a shop house that you need to look for. Else, you may miss it easily. When we reached that, it's so empty that we were the only customers. The waiteress introduced and recommended their food to us and we made our order. Immediately after order was done, we started taking picture everywhere inside the shop. Of coz, we had already taken picture outside before we stepped in.

We had taken a break when food and drink were served. They were indeed awesome, I love them so much that I will give a rating of 5 stars. The food is really worth the price I would said.

I also love the decoration here lots. Among all of it, love the Pudu culture map the most.

Had a good discussion with Richard and my dream decoration of our own home. Yes, I love these decoration, yet it wouldn't be my choice for house decoration. Richard and I share the same interest and taste that we want to make our house look simple, tidy yet nice. Easy to do house keeping also. Hehe.. :)

Overall, it's a good visit. Plus point for Richard coz being generous when order my favourite drink (coffee as usual) for me although the price would be slightly expensive for me. :) I love this place and definitely I'll come again.. and again.. and again.

Random #2

Another dose of #IAmRandomAndIKnowIt
Suddenly tuned into the mood to listen to these two video. Yes, not to watch them, but listen.
These two drama were specially presented by CHCKL Chinese Church drama team.
What I love the most are the last part where they sing.  Hope you enjoy the show. :)

Keep On Keeping On

I still remember this song, accompany me during my down time few years back.
(Back then, I don't even had the full version, it's only half of it. The full version is only found today.)
The darkness is over and it's a bright sunny day now. :)

If anyone of you are in your valley right now, keep believing the darkness and storms will be gone eventually and the bright shiny Sun will be awaiting you ahead. Keep on keeping on.

Balik Kampung

Balik kampung... oh oh oh balik kampung..

Yay! Finally get to fix a free slot to go home after six months, since Chinese New Year. Why is it very difficult to fix a time to go home?

  1. My kampung is very far, it's in Sg Petani, Kedah. It takes about 5 hours driving distance.
  2. This time I am bringing Richard home, for the very 1st time. Hehe.. But, because both our ministry in church is kinda lack of manpower, we need to choose the date that any possibility of things may go wrong will be MINIMUM.
  3. We have to choose the date that comes with public holiday so that we can have more time at home instead of rushing back. Despite the precious family time together, the bus ticket is not cheap though.

Thus, after much discussion and consideration, we choose to go home during Raya break, take bus to go home at 17th night and then bus come back on 20th morning. Why am I so rushing whence the Raya break is due Tue?

  1. Richard have to work on Wed, we don't want him to rush but have more rest.
  2. We are now in Emerge peak season. And we are having intense training. I feel so bad to leave them at this time. But sorry, I have to. But I have been emo quite a while for the comment people leave about the absence.. :(

Well, so we took the bus at 9.30pm, but we only manage to reach Sg. Petani on 5.00am due to the heavy traffic coz a lot people leaving at Friday night and going to take full week leave next week.

Baskin Robin in Hentian Rehat?! @_@

The first day, I decided to bring Richard tour around the town, to know this place where I live. Not to forget, a visit to my church GMC is a must too. And, we end the night by meeting up with Christy and Kira.

The clock

My Form 6 school

Bubble tea @Central Square. Richard loves it so much.

Lunch @Edo Ichi, got a good promotion price. The food is awesome.

Mrs Lau is preaching "Honor Your Parents"

The sweet couple

The next day, we brought my mum and younger brother to Penang. Our first stop is Snake Temple, where Richard is so longing to be. Then, we went to the Blue Mansion. We planned to go to the Penang Hill initially, but the traffic became TOO heavy. Thus, we change direction to go to Jln Macalister to buy some biscuit to bring back to KL. With no idea where to go next, we head back home after this half day trip.

At night, we went to dinner at Village Mall eating pizza hut, food that my family seldom eat. Hehe.. Then, we went to shopping for a CD player+casette player+radio for my mum.

Then, the final day, we went to pasar in the morning to have breakfast before leaving. Richard played with his DSLR around, catching all the photos. Manage to meet up with pastor and his wife (my spiritual mama) for breakfast, and got to buy some new clothes. I am a happy girl. Haha..

We were real not happy when talked about our trip back. We had been cheated when we bought bus ticket. To the people who wants to buy bus ticket in Sg Petani, please please don't buy from this counter 25 who claim themselves provide Plusliner bus, they are cheating. That's no one there at the counter when it comes to the time the bus sipposed to come. They didn't provide bus at all. But direct us to other counter, squeeze in other buses, with time slot way later than our desired time to go back. As a result, our 10.30am bus became 12.00pm bus, and by the time we reach KL was already 6.30pm. Haiz.. Have to be wise when I need to buy bus ticket next time.

BE WARNED!!! THEY CHEAT!!

Overall, I enjoy the trip back with Richard.
And, my mum is satisfied with this choice of mine. Hehe..
